da cassino online: As reported by The Daily Record, former Rangers striker Ally McCoist reckons Jason Cummings needs to learn to how effectively play as a solo striker, emulating the likes of Leigh Griffiths and Alfredo Morelos.

What’s the story?

da dobrowin: With 355 goals in all competitions for the Light Blues, it’s fair to say Ally McCoist knows a thing or two about playing as a striker at Ibrox and although he believes the on-loan man is better as part of a striking partnership, he reckons Cummings can improve his game to suit the formation that Rangers currently deploy.

As quoted by The Daily Record, McCoist said:

It’s 100 per cent certain, though, that Cummings can learn how to play as a one. The improvement in Griffiths over the past couple of seasons has been immense.

Morelos can play the role of a one as well. So Cummings should look at the likes of Griffiths and Morelos and see what’s needed. Just making angles, an ability to hold the ball up and bring people in.

Morelos, for all people talk about the chances he misses, does a reasonable job of holding the ball up.

I didn’t do it myself a lot, but as my career went on I learned how to play in a one. You have to be a bit more concerned about other things within the team and the game.

Can the former Hibernian hero become the main man at Rangers?

Cummings’ future potential

The 22-year-old has made a good impression since moving to Ibrox on loan from Nottingham Forest in January, but hasn’t yet convinced Graeme Murty that he’s the number one choice to lead the line for the Gers. He’s scored five times in 12 appearances for the Light Blues, with many of those appearances coming from the substitute’s bench.

Like most teams these days, Rangers rarely play two strikers, making it difficult for Cummings to force his way into Murty’s plans. However, if he can improve his all-round game, he would be a better choice than Alfredo Morelos, who often needs three or four chances before finding the back of the net.

Cummings is an instinctive finisher and should the club decide to make his move from Nottingham Forest permanent this summer, he has the potential to make himself a hero with the Rangers support.
