Doug Bollinger, the New South Wales fast bowler, has received a one-match suspension after his wild throw to hit the stumps had struck the batsman during the Ryobi Cup clash between his side and Queensland.The incident, which is in violation of Article 2.2.7 of Cricket Australia’s code of behaviour – throwing a ball at or near a player or player support personnel in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during a match – was reported to the match referee Bob Stratford, who proposed the suspension. Bollinger pleaded guilty and accepted the penalty, leaving no need for a hearing.He will have to sit out when his side hosts Victoria on October 20.
